Hotels

"I am easily satisfied with the very best."
Winston Churchill

I have been fortunate that my work has taken me around much of the world and this has allowed me to stay in some of the best hotels

" I have been fortunate that my work has taken me around much of the world and this has allowed me to stay in some of the best hotels. A great hotel has character as well as luxury. It is the sum of all those who have worked there and stayed there - the worthy, the famous and even the downright notorious. For this reason it takes a while for a delightful new hotel to become great - and even then it often doesn't happen."

" Staying in hotels is not just to do with being looked after it is time out of everyday life. I write well in hotels because I am not responsible for anything about my environment. If a picture is hung in the wrong place it is not my job to put it right. At home I spend too much time moving the pictures around and not enough time at my desk."
